Our Mission & Vision

In our effective student coaching programs, we help students build skills in these areas:

  1. Executive Functioning Skills

  2. Learning and Study Skills

  3. Social and Emotional Skills

Russell Coaching for Students emerged in 2009 as an innovative response to unmet student and parent needs in the Tampa Bay community and has since grown to the largest student coaching practice in the United States. As a former non-profit leader in positive youth development, Dr. Norrine Russell began receiving requests in 2009 from area professionals to individually mentor and coach students. As more and more coaching requests came in, Dr. Russell began envisioning a comprehensive coaching practice for students and parents. Over time, many talented coaches have joined Dr. Russell and together they have grown Russell Coaching LLC into the widely-respected international practice it is today, offering coaching services across the United States, Canada, and the UK.

At Russell Coaching, student well-being is our passion. We make it our mission to meet the individual needs of students by providing life-changing coaching relationships. Our vision is a world where every student is understood, encouraged, and motivated to achieve their potential, both in school and in life.

Our Methods

Our goal is successful students and happy parents! When a child is stressed and school is overwhelming, no one is happy.

Through skill-building in the three core areas of Executive Functioning, Learning and Study Skills, and Social and Emotional Skills, we help students regain their confidence and motivation and build the lagging or missing skills they need, which in turn leads to greater school success.

As a client of Russell Coaching, your student will be matched with one of our exceptional coaches. Our coaches have a passion for helping students and in-depth training to help them address students’ learning differences and executive functioning needs. Your coach and child will meet on a weekly basis at an agreed-upon day and time. The coach also provides support to the parents, suggestions for the student’s 504 or IEP, and coordination with other providers, such as therapists and psychiatrists.

At each session, your student’s coach will log into your student’s school portal. Using a system of project management, the coach and your student will make a plan to work towards your student’s academic, social, or emotional goals.

At each session, coaches will engage your student through personal connection, motivation building, and positive feedback. Sessions are designed to be fun, engaging, and supportive. Each session is customized to match your student's unique pace and needs.

We meet your student where they are and bring them to a brighter future!

Our science-based approach includes best practices and recurrent professional development. Whether your child is unmotivated, gifted, has ADHD or Autism, or generally struggles with executive functioning, your child will benefit from our coaches' years of experience and their commitment to your child's growth and well-being.

We contacted Dr. Russell because we wanted to be proactive after our son’s diagnosis and had already exhausted most traditional therapies. She has helped our entire family unit and been such a blessing in our lives. She is the missing piece for all parents struggling with the everyday challenges that affect kids with ADD. She has been instrumental in creating a long-term treatment plan for our son. Her guidance has kept me going through some tough days!
